Ale Soup - Weissbier Suppe

Ale Soup  Weissbier Suppe


1 pint ale
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup milk


Add water to beer.  Bring to boil.  Season with salt and nutmeg.  Beat egg yolks with sugar and flour.  Add milk.  Stir smooth and add to beer mixture.  Bring to boil.  Reduce heat.  Fold in beaten egg whites.  

Serve with croutons.
