Spaghetti and Meal Balls

Spaghetti and Meatballs - a vintage typed recipe card

Ingredients

1 garlic clove - minced
1/2 green pepper - diced
1/4 cup oil
2 1/2 cup canned tomatoes
6 ounces tomato paste
1 cup water
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons vinegar
1/2 cup celery - diced
1/2 cup minced onion
1 pound beef
3 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Bay leaf
1 can chopped mushrooms


Meat
Salt
Pepper
Onions
Bread crumbs
 

Method

To make meatballs add salt, pepper, onion, bread crumbs (not too many), and egg to meat.   Cut down on salt in the sauce. 

Saute onions, garlic, celery, green pepper, and ground meat in oil until brown. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until thick. 
 

I omit the green pepper and add a small dash of red pepper.
