Strawberry Crunch

Strawberry Crunch Cake

2 cups flour (self-rising)
2 sticks oleo, blended well
1 cup nuts

Melt oleo/butter and mix in flour and nuts.  Pat into a 9 X 13 inch pan.  Bake until light brown.  350 degrees (around 40 minutes); watch. 

2 packages Dream Whip (follow directions)
8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
Mix above ingredients well and add 1pound of confection sugar
Mix well and pour over cool crust. 

Top with can strawberry pie filling. 
 

Notes:
This was a staple dessert at my grandmother's house. She would make Strawberry Crunch for most family gatherings -- because everyone loved it!

You can substitute a different flavor of pie filling if you would like something other than strawberry.
