Apple For The Teacher

Apple For The Teacher

Ingredients

Pastry

6 medium-sized apples
Sugar
Butter
Spices

Method

Make pastry. Roll out on lightly floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out six 5 to 6-inch squares to cover apples. Wash and core 6 medium-size apples. Place an apple in the center of a square of pastry large enough to cover it. Fill core of apple with sugar, butter, and spices. Then gather up pastry around the apple and pinch edges together or fasten together with a toothpick. Bake in a 375-degree oven for 35 minutes. Serve hot or cold. Top with whipped cream and a cherry, or use a hard sauce.
