Fruit Sauce

Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch or three tablespoons flour
1 cup juice, drained from canned fruit (cherries, pineapple, apricots, etc.)
1 tablespoon lemon juice or to taste
2 tablespoons rum or brandy, optional
1 cup drained canned fruit

Method

1.  Mix sugar and cornstarch or flour.  Add fruit juice and boil, stirring, about one minute or until thickened.  Remove from heat. 

2.  Add lemon juice, rum or brand, and canned fruit.  Serve warm or cold. 

Yield two cups.
