Sift 3 level cups confectioner's sugar and a dash of salt into large mixing bowl. Mix 1 cup Durkee's Stayfresh Coconut or 1 (five-ounce) can Durkee's Dixie Cut Coconut with sugar. Stir melted mixture into a bowl of dry ingredients. </p> <p>Press into 8-inch pan. If desired, top with coconut, Chill in refrigerator until set. Take off heat and add soda. Pour into 9x13 pan and cool. Boil, stirring constantly to 250-degrees or until drops of syrup form hard, yet plastic balls in cold water. Add candies and cook to 285-degrees or until drips of syrup separate into hard but not brittle threads in cold water. Remove, stir in food coloring. Twirl apple in syrup. Remove, let excess drip off then twirl. Cool on greased baking sheet.</p> <p>To decorate: Dip licorice, small candies, marshmallows and gum in KARO and apply immediately or later. Stir crushed cornflakes, dates, apricots, and pecans until well mixed in a large bowl. Melt honey and butter in small pan; blend in vanilla. Pour over cornflake mixture; mix thoroughly. Chill 30 minutes. Use 1 tablespoon of mixture to form each ball. Roll balls in sugar, if desired. Garnish each with a strip of apricot. Mix in 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 cup pecans. Let chill 15-20 minutes. Roll into a log in the wax paper about 12-inches long.  Make lines on the log with a fork. </p> <p>Take 1 egg white, slightly beaten. Rub egg white on the log; use fresh wax paper, and cover with 1/2 cup pecans. Add sugar all at once. Stir with a wooden spoon until well blended.
