Apple Torte

A handwritten vintage recipe for an Apple Torte, make this recipe with flour, baking powder, salt, eggs, sugar, vanilla, diced apples and nuts. This recipe is exquisite when served hot with vanilla ice cream.
Apple Torte


2/3 cup sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups diced apple
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans


Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.  Add egg, beat well.  Add dry ingredients, apples, and nuts to liquid mixture.  Mix well and bake in an ungreased 8x12x4-inch baking dish 45 minutes at 350-degrees.  

Serve hot.  Exquisite with vanilla ice {cream}.
