Applesauce Ring Cake

Applesauce Ring Cake

“This ‘saucy’ cake is even better when served with coffee ice cream scooped in its center!”

Ingredients

1/2 cup Kroger butte
1 cup sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 cups Kroger flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon powdered cloves
1/2 teaspoon Kroger salt
1 teaspoon Kroger cinnamon
1 cup Kroger thick applesauce
1/2 cup black walnuts or walnuts (chopped)
1/2 cup raisins (chopped)

1 medium (1 quart) ring mold, lightly greased

Method

  1. Cream the butter and sugar then add the beaten egg.
  2. Sift flour, soda, and dry seasonings together; dust lightly nuts and raisins.
  3. Add flour mixture alternately with applesauce to cream butter mixture. Blend well and add nuts and raisins.
  4. Pour into a greased ring mold and bake at 350-degrees for about 45 minutes. When ready to serve, fill the center with ice cream!
