Black Bottom Pecan Pie

Ingredients

1 8-inch unbaked pastry shell

Fudge Filling 

3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs

Topping

1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup pecan halves

Method

Fudge Filling

Combine all ingredients – blend well at medium speed. Pour into an unbaked pie shell, bake at 350-degrees for 20 minutes. Spoon topping over partially baked pie, bake at 350-degrees for another 30-35 minutes. 

Topping

Combine all ingredients, except peans halves in a small bowl. Blend well at medium speed. Stir in pecans.
