Broiled Chicken in a Brown Paper Bag

Broiled Chicken in a Brown Paper Bag

Broiled Chicken in brown paper bag, vintage clipped recipe

Broilers, cut in half

Brown paper bags

Have broilers cut in half, clean and wipe dry; then rub with butter, season well with salt, pepper, and paprika.  Slice each half chicken into an individual paper bag, fold over ends to close securely and lay on a pan, flat side down.  Bake in a 300-degree oven from one to one and a half hours depending on the size of the broiler.

"Broiled Chicken, for one delicious example, can become the mainstay of a company dinner, yet allow the hostess to visit with guests 'til within minutes of serving time.  It's an easy trick, too, done with a slow oven and brown paper bags."
