Burgundy Beef Steaks

Ingredients

4 small 1/2-inch beef top loin steaks – 6 ounces each
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon oil
1 onion, sliced
1 tablespoon flour
2/3 cup burgundy
2/3 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Method

Cook steaks in butter 7 to 8 minutes on each side – remove steaks from pan, cover and keep warm.  Add onion to drippings, saute for five minutes. Add flour and stir, add burgundy, broth, sugar, salt, and pepper bring to a boil stirring until thickens for 2 to 3 minutes. Spoon over steaks.
