Creole Spaghetti

Vintage clipped recipe for Creole Spaghetti


1/2 pound spaghetti
1 pint canned tomatoes
3/4 cup sliced or chopped onion
1 pound hamburger steak
1/2 cup oil or butter
1/2 cup grated cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt


Cook spaghetti in salted water until tender.  Cook tomato, salt, and onion in the fat in an iron skillet until onion is tender but not too brown. 

Add hamburger to the onion mixture.  Stir and cook until all the red color has left the meat.  Then add the drained spaghetti and grated cheese.  Mix carefully with a fork.  Put into a casserole and reheat in over about 15 minutes.
