Fisherman's Wharf Jambalaya - Rice-A-Roni

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter
1 package Chicken Rice-A-Roni
2 3/4 cups hot water
Chicken flavor packet content
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon instant minced onions
1/4 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced green pepper
2 cups diced cooked ham (or luncheon meat)
1 can tuna or shrimp

Method

In two tablespoons butter, lightly brown 1 package Chicken Rice-A-Roni. Stir in 2 3/4 cups hot water, contents of Chicken flavor packet, 1/4 teaspoon each black pepper and Tabasco sauce, 1 tablespoon instant minced onions, 1/4 cup each diced celery, and bell pepper. Add 2 cups diced cooked ham (or luncheon meat), 1 can tuna or shrimp. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.

  1. WOW!!

    I’ve had this recipe for 40 years! The only difference is……my recipe calls for 1 POUND of shrimp…..not 1 can of shrimp!
    Which is correct?
