Fudge - Adkins

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup marshmallow creme
8 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate
3/4 cup pecan pieces
[1 teaspoon vanilla}
Method
Combine sugar, milk, butter, and salt in a pan. Bring to a vigorous boil, stirring often. Reduce heat, simmer for six minutes. Meanwhile, place vanilla, marshmallow creme, and chocolate in a large bowl. Gradually pour boiling syrup over mixture in bowl. Beat by hand until chocolate is melted. Stir in nuts. Pour into a buttered 8-inch pan.
Chill until firm.
Ad additional recipe for Fudge appears in the Adkins Collection. The recipe is almost identical to the first although this recipe calls for milk rather than evaporated milk. The quantities are larger in this recipe also.

1 2/3 cups milk
1 cup butter

1 12-ounce package semisweet chocoalte
1 pint marshmallow creme
1 cup walnuts
Method
Butter side of a heave saucepan. In it combine sugar, milk, and butter. Cook over medium heat to soft boil stage. Remove from heat, add chocolate, marshmallow creme, vanilla, and nuts. Beat until chocolate is melted and blended.
