Pumpkin Pie

A vintage recipe card for Pumpkin Pie from 1943. This pie is made with stewed and strained pumpkin, rich milk or cream, sugar, eggs, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and allspice. Bake at 475-degrees for 15 minutes and at 400-degrees for 45 minutes.

Ingredients

2 cups stewed and strained pumpkin
2 cups rich milk or cream
1 cup brown sugar or granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
 

Method

Use an unbaked pie shell. Bake for 15 minutes at 475-degrees, then reduce to 400-degrees for 45 minutes.
