Pumpkin Pie - Verdin

A vintage typed recipe for Pumpkin Pie, this pie is made with sifted pumpkin, milk, sugar, molasses, melted butter, eggs, salt, ginger, and cinnamon.
A vintage typed recipe for Pumpkin Pie


1 cup sifted pumpkin
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoon molasses
2 tablespoon melted butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


Mix with each cupful of sifted pumpkin 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons molasses, 2 tablespoons melted butter, 2 eggs slightly beaten, 1/2 teaspoon salt, ginger, and cinnamon. Bake in lower crust 45 minutes.

A typed vintage recipe for Pumpkin Pie


1 1/2 cups milk
2 egg
1/2 cup sguar
2 cups pumpkin
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of allspice
Pinch of salt
1/2 pint whipping cream


Beat egg yolks, sugar, spices, and salt until smooth. Add milk and pumpkin. Then fold in the stiffly beaten egg whties. Pour into a crust and bake in a moderate oven (350-degrees) until set (about 45 minutes). 

Top with whipped cream just before serving.
