Raisin Fudge

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup grated chocolate
1/2 pound English walnuts, chopped fine
1 pound seeded raisins, chopped
1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Method

Put into a saucepan 2 cups sugar, 1 cup milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and 1/2 cupful grated chocolate; cook, stir constantly until it forms a soft ball when tried in cold water. Then add 1/2 pound English walnuts chopped fine, 1 pound seeded raisins chopped, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Let mixture come to a boil once more, remove from fire and beat well, and pour into buttered tins. When nearly cold, mark into squares.
