Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

1 3/4 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup Crisco
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup mashed bananas (2-3 bananas)
1/2 cup nuts

Method

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Beat shortening until smooth and creamy. Add sugar gradually and continue beating until light and fluffy. Add beaten eggs and beat well. Add flour alternating with mashed bananas, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Add nuts. Furn into well-greased bread and bake in a 350-degree oven for about 1 hour.
