Ingredients

1 tablespoon vinegar
1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup oil
4 tablespoons cocoa
1 stick margarine
1 cup water

2 cups sugar
2 cups flour

2 eggs
1 tablespoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

Put 1  tablespoon vinegar in 1/2 cup milk to curdle and set aside. 

1. Mix in a saucepan, 1/2 cup oil, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 1 stick margarine, and 1 cup water. 

2. Mix in a large bowl 2 cups sugar, 2 cups flour. 

Bring the first mixture to a rapid boil and pour over the second mixture. Mix well and add 1/2 cup curdled milk, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix well with mixture and pour int a greased and floured baking sheet (11×17). Bake at 400-degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. 

 

Frosting

Ingredients

1 stick margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/3 cup sweet milk

1 box confectioner’s sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nuts

Make frosting while cake bakes. 

Melt together and bring to a boil: 1 stick of margarine, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 1/3 cup sweet milk. Remove from heat and add 1 box confectioner’s sugar, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup nuts. 

Spread on cake when it comes from the oven. If icing is thick, add a little milk.
