Burnt Sugar Cake
Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup of ice water
2 eggs, beaten separately
2 1/2 cups flour
6 teaspoon caramel
2 teaspoon baking powder
Method
To make the caramel: 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan and burn until smoke rises, add 1/2 cup boiling water. Cook until syrupy.

3 egg yolks
2 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup of cold water
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoon burnt sugar
2 egg whites
3 teaspoons baking powder
Method
Mix ingredients given and bake in layers.
