Ingredients
Pie crust pastry for a double pie
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1 teaspoon nutmeg
2 1/2 cups water
Method
Take 2 cups of sugar and the 2 1/2 cups water and bring to boiling.
Meanwhile, roll pastry spread with softened butter which has been mixed with the remaining half cup of sugar and the nutmeg. Roll up as for jelly roll and bake in a moderately hot oven until brown. Pour the boiled syrup over it and replace it in the oven until syrup balls. Serve hot with the syrup sauce.
