Ingredients

1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons sugar
1 yeast cake

2 1/2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Shortening

Method

Mix in a bowl: buttermilk, sugar, and yeast. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and stir in shortening.
