Cheese Straws - Verdin


1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup grated cheese
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons cold water


  1. Sift flour and baking powder into a bowl. 
  2. Cut in cheese and butter with a pastry blender. 
  3. Add water and mix well. 
  4. Fill a Mirro cooky press. Form straws on ungreased cooky sheets using the star plate. Bake 8-10 minutes at 400-degrees. Immediately cut into desired lengths.

Yield – 3 dozen.
