German Sweet and Sour Beans
A vintage recipe card for German Sweet Sour Beans. Make this side dish with bacon, minced onion, flour, bean liquid, water, vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, and green beans.

Ingredients
- 2 strips bacon
- 1 cup minced onion
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 cup bean liquid
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 package frozen beans or 1 can 1 pound green beans, drained
Method
- Brown bacon until crisp.
- Remove bacon.
- Saute onion in bacon fat, until yellow.
- Stir in flour, add liquid and seasonings; bring to a boil.
- Stir in beans.
- Heat through.
- Sprinkle with crisp bacon bits, serve.
