Hunt’s Chicken in the Pink

Hunt's Chicken in the Pink

3 broilers, halved
2 8-ounce cans Hunt’s Tomato Sauce
1/2 cup lemon juice
3/4 cup pure vegetable, oil, such as Wesson
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon finely minced onion
1 clove garlic, finely minced
3 bay leaves

Wipe chickens and place in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Combine remaining ingredients. Pour over chicken, completely covering halves.  Let stand 2 to 3 hours {in the refrigeratoror}, turning occasionally. Drain and save sauce. Bake in a moderate oven (350-degrees) for about 90 minutes, or until chicken is tender, basting chickens every 10 minutes with marinating sauce.

Makes 6 servings.
