Gingerbread

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon mace
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
2 eggs
2 tablespoons vinegar plus sweet milk to make 1/2 cup

Method

Sift flour, soda, salt, and spices. Combine shortening, sugar, and molasses; add eggs, vinegar, and milk. 

Bake at 350-degrees for 45 minutes.
