3/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 egg
1 3/4 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking powder


Heat oven to 375-degrees.  Spread foil for cooling on countertops. 

Combine peanut butter, Crisco, light brown sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl.  Beat at medium speed until well blended.  Add egg.  Beat just until blended.  Combine flour, salt, and soda; add to creamed mixture at low speed.  Mix just until blended.  Drop by heaping teaspoon two inches apart on ungreased sheets.  Pattern in criss-cross with a fork.  

Bake 375-degree for 7-8 minutes or until set or just turning brown.  Cook two minutes before removing.
