Ingredients
1 2/3 cups flour
1/4 cup shortening
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup jam
2 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg and flour. Spread in 7×11-inch pan and bake 15 minutes at 375-degrees.
Cool and spread 1 cup jam and cover with meringue made of 2 egg whites beaten dry and 1/2 cup sugar added with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Sprinkle with nuts and bake 20 minutes at 325-degrees. Cool and cut into squares.
