2 (3-ounce) packages lime gelatin
2 cups applesauce
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup well-drained maraschino cherries
2 cups lemon-lime carbonated beverage
1 cup undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Green food coloring


Combine 2 (3-ounce) package lime gelatin and 2 cups applesauce in a saucepan. Heat over low heat until gelatin dissolves; cool. Stir in 1 cup chopped celery, 1/2 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cups well-drained, chopped, maraschino cherries, and 2 cups lemon-lime carbonated beverage. Chill until syrupy. Chill 1 cup undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk in a refrigerator tray until soft ice crystals form around the edges of the tray. Whip until stiff. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice and whip very stiff. Fold into gelatine mixture. Add a few drops of green food color. Spoon into a 2-quart mold. Chill until firm.

Serves 8-10.
