Milk Chocolate Marble Squares

Ingredients

1 package of chocolate chips
2 teaspoons cooking oil
1/2 cup shortening
6 tablespoons sugar
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon water
1 egg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Method

Combine over hot (not boiling) water 1 package chocolate chips and 2 teaspoons cooking oil. Stir until chocolate melts and the mixture is blended; set aside. Combine in a bowl 1/2 cup shortening, 6 tablespoons sugar, 6 tablespoons brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 1/4 teaspoon water – beat until creamy. Beat 1 egg stiff and blend in 1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons flour, 1/2 teaspoon soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Spread in a greased 13×9-inch pan. Spoon chocolate mixture over the top – run knife through batter to marbelize. Bake 375-degrees for 14-16 minutes.

    did not have the list of complete ingredients. I almost gave up hope, I’m 76 and my dad has been gone since 1972..
