3/4 cup oleo
1 cup brown sugar – packed
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 1/4 cup flour
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt

Sugar for rolling


Cream oleo and sugar. Add egg and molasses and mix well.  Combine flour and soda, spices and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Chill for one hour.  Shape into balls and roll in granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, 3 inches apart. 

Bake at 375-degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. 

Makes approximately 18 cookies?
