3 rounded teaspoons butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
Grated rind of an orange
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 cups and 2 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Pinch of salt
Candied orange peel


Cream butter and gradually add sugar beat in egg, add grated orange rind, and then juice. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and fold into the mixture, turn out upon a floured board, roll thin and cut into fancy shapes with floured cutters. Decorate each cookie with a bit of candied peel, lay on a greased cooky sheet, bake in a hot oven [400-degrees]. Remove from sheet and cool.
