Ingredients

1 cup shortening (not oleo)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Method

Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Add dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoon on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press with a floured fork. 

Bake at 350-degrees for about 10 minutes. 

Makes about 5 dozen. For richer cookies, use 2 1/2 cups flour.
