Peanut Cake

Peanut Cake

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
6 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons soda
1 1/3 cup buttermilk
2 cups peanuts

Method

Cream sugar and butter, add egg yolks, add cocoa, dissolve soda in mild and add.  Add flour and stiffly beaten egg whites, add peanuts and bake in hot oven. 

Filling

2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cream
1/2 cup sweet milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups peanuts

Mix sugar, butter, cream, cocoa, and sweet milk.  Cook until forms a soft ball.  Add peanuts, beat well and spread on cake.
