Penuche sauce is a rich, decadent caramel-like sauce made with light brown sugar, light corn syrup, butter, sweetened condensed milk, salt, vanilla extract, and chopped nut meats. It has a deep, buttery flavor with a hint of molasses and is perfect for topping ice cream, cakes, and other desserts.
Penuche sauce is similar to a butterscotch sauce, but it has a more robust molasses flavor and a slightly softer texture. It is also less sweet than butterscotch sauce, making it a more versatile topping.
Penuche sauce is easy to make at home and can it be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. To make penuche sauce, combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved and the sauce is thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Penuche sauce is a delicious and versatile topping that will please everyone at your table. Try it over ice cream, cake, or brownies, or use it as a filling for cookies or bars.
