Ingredients
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
4 eggs (whites)
2 cups flour
3/4 cups sweet milk
2 oz poppy seeds (3/4 cup)
2 teaspoons baking powder
Method
Cream butter, add sugar and milk; then flour, baking powder, poppy seed, and egg whites, stiffly beaten.
Filling
Ingredients
3/4 cup sugar
4 egg yolks
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup nut-meats
1 teaspoon vanilla
Method
Scald milk. Add sugar which has been mixed with cornstarch and egg yolks. Add vanilla and nuts. Boil.
