Ingredients
1 1/2 cups of sugar
7 tablespoons water
Pinch of salt
1/3 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 unbeaten egg whites
Vanilla extract
Method
Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan with a tightly fitting cover. Bring to a boil, after it begins to boil rapidly cook for 2.5 minutes with cover on.
Combine egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar in a small mixing bowl. When the syrup is cooked, pour slowly into egg whites, beat at high speed until stiff. Add flavoring.
