Ingredients
24 large mushrooms
1 medium onion, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
2 cups fine, soft bread crumbs
3/4 cup chopped, cooked shrimp
1/4 cup chopped, crisp bacon
Sherry
Butter
Salt
Pepper
Thyme

Method
Remove stems from caps of 24 large mushrooms; peel. Chop stems and peel if tough. Cook 1 medium onion, chopped and mushroom stems in 1 tablespoon butter about 2 minutes; add 2 cups fine soft bread crumbs. {Combine} 3/4 cup chopped cooked shrimp, 1/4 cup chopped crisp bacon to equal parts of stuffing in separate bowls. Add sherry to shrimp mixture to moisten, salt and pepper, thyme and oregano to taste.
Brush tops with melted butter and broil upside down about 2 minutes. Invert and fill with stuffing. Brush with melted butter and broil about 3 more minutes.
