Ingredients

1/4 cup diced onion
1/2 clove finely-diced garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
3 1/2 cups (#2 1/2 can) Italian plum tomatoes
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 pound raw, cleaned shrimp
1/3 cup tomato paste

Method

Saute 1/4 cup diced onion, 1/2 clove finely-diced garlic in 1/4 cup olive oil.  Add 3 1/2 cups Italian plum tomatoes, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper.  Simmer 40 minutes.  Add 1 pound raw, cleaned shrimp and 1/3 cup tomato paste.  Simmer 5 minutes. 

Serve over vermicelli.
