1/2 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 egg yolks
2 cups cake flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup sour milk or buttermilk
1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
2 egg whites


Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg yolks. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to cream mixture; add lemon flavoring then fold in stiffly bean egg whites. 

Pour into greased pans and bake for 15 minutes.
