Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 eggs, well beaten
3 tablespoons sour milk
1 cup strawberry jam
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
2 cups sifted flour
Method
Cream together 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup butter, add 3 well-beaten eggs, 3 tablespoons sour milk, 1 cup strawberry jam, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon each cinnamon and allspice, 2 cups sifted flour. Mix well, bake in layers and put together with white icing.
