Success Bolognese

Ingredients

1 recipe meat sauce (see below)
6 green onions, with top, chopped
8-ounce package noodles, cooked and drained
2 3-ounce package of cream cheese, softened
8-ounce carton sour cream
1 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese (block 3-inches x 2-inches)

Method

Lightly grease 1 1/2-quart deep casserole. Preheat oven to 350-degrees. Mix onions with softened cream cheese and sour cream. Put 1/2 of the noodles in the bottom of the casserole, spread with 1/2 of the onion mixture, cover with 1/2 of the meat sauce. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly. This dish may be prepared in advance and refrigerated until baked. It also will freeze before or after baking. 

Serves 8

 

Meat Sauce

1 pound ground chuck
12.5-ounce jar of spaghetti sauce
1/2 teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons red wine
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese

Brown meat in a skillet and add the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for half an hour.
