Syrup Popcorn Balls

Syrup Popcorn Balls

Ingredients

2 cups white sugar
1 cup white syrup
1/2 cup water

1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

Food coloring, if you wish

Popcorn

Method

Bring sugar, syrup, and water to a boil and cook until crackly or makes a fine thread. Then add quickly soda, butter, and vanilla. Stir quickly and pour on popcorn and stir.

Color if you wish.

Cook syrup in a pan a lot larger than would be necessary to hold syrup as the soda will make it foam up.

Butter hands when shaping popcorn balls.
