Ingredients

Cake Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup water

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 box powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 5 tablespoons milk

Method

Cake

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sour cream, salt, sugar, baking soda, and eggs.
  • In a pan bring to boil margarine, cocoa, and water, then add boiled mixture to dry ingredients.
  • Mix well and pour into a large sheet pant, 15.5×10.5×1-inches, that has been greased and floured.
  • Bake at 350-degrees approximately 20 minutes.

Frosting

  • In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and pecans.
  • Bring margarine, milk, and cocoa to boil in a saucepan.
  • Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
  • Frost cake while still warm.
  • Can use chocolate chips instead of cocoa; 1/2 large bag.
