Texas Cake
Ingredients
Cake Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 eggs
- 2 sticks margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
Frosting Ingredients
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 5 tablespoons milk
Method
Cake
- In a bowl, mix flour, sour cream, salt, sugar, baking soda, and eggs.
- In a pan bring to boil margarine, cocoa, and water, then add boiled mixture to dry ingredients.
- Mix well and pour into a large sheet pant, 15.5×10.5×1-inches, that has been greased and floured.
- Bake at 350-degrees approximately 20 minutes.
Frosting
- In a bowl, mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and pecans.
- Bring margarine, milk, and cocoa to boil in a saucepan.
- Add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
- Frost cake while still warm.
- Can use chocolate chips instead of cocoa; 1/2 large bag.
