Ingredients
1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon ginger
1 cup milk
3/4 tablespoon soda
4 cups sifted flour
Method
Cream shortening with sugar; add ginger; add milk in which has been dissolved 3/4 tablespoon soda. Add flour gradually; mix well. Spread mixture on inverted greased tins, or on a cookie sheet. Spread as thin as possible – very thin.
Bake light brown at 375-degrees. Cut while hot, don’t wait. Cut moment it comes from the oven.
Makes a heck of a lot.
