Ingredients

Cake

2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 can (13.5 ounces) or 1 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, undrained
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
 

Topping

1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Sauce

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup light cream
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

 

Method

Cake

Combine all cake ingredients at the lowest speed until blended; beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Pour into a 9-inch greased (bottom only) square cake pan. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 350-degrees for 45-50 minutes, just before the cake is done, prepare the sauce. Pour sauce over warm cake. Cool. 

Sauce

Melt butter – blend in remaining ingredients.
