Ingredients

1 honeydew melon
2 lemons, thinly sliced
Juice of 2 limes
3 bottles Chablis, Sauterne, or other white dinner wine
1 bottle of champagne, chilled

Tip: you can use 1-quart ginger ale in place of champagne with splendid results. 

Method

Preparation – punch bowl. 

Cut honeydew in half, remove seeds, use a melon baller for perfect shaped melon balls, add lemon slices, pour in lime juice, add wine, cover, and chill at least one hour, longer is better; add chilled champagne just before serving.
