- 1 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cup white sugar
- 3 eggs one at a time
- 2 cups fruit cocktail well-drained
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1/2 cup coconut
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
Method
- Mix shortening, brown sugar, and white sugar; add three eggs, one at a time.
- Add mixture to 2 cups well-drained fruit cocktail, chopped nuts, coconut, raisins, and vanilla.
- Mix together dry ingredients - flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cloves and add to the first mixture.
- Bake on a greased pan at 375-degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
