A vintage handwritten recipe from Heloise for classic Pralines, a New Orlean favorite. These Pralines are made with white sugar, buttermilk, baking soda, butter, vanilla, and pecans.

- 1 cups White sugar
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 cups Pecans
Mix {white sugar, buttermilk and soda} and cook over medium heat until soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and add 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 cups pecans.
{Spoon by tablespoonful on wax paper and let set.}
