A vintage typewritten recipe card for a classic Chicken Divan. This casserole is made with chicken, broccoli, onion soup mix, sour cream, whipped cream, and parmesan cheese.

- 5 large chicken breasts
- bisquick
- salt
- pepper
- paprika
- Crisco oil
- 3 - 4 packages frozen broccoli spears
- 1 package Lipton's dehydrated onion soup mix
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped (1 1/2 cup is better)
- 1 tbsp parmesan cheese
Split chicken breast and bake in over rolling them in Bisquick.
Cook chicken in a 425 degree oven with Crisco in the bottom of a baking dish for 45 minutes. Add salt, pepper, and paprika.
Cool and debone the chicken breasts.
Cook 3 to 4 packages of frozen broccoli spears, just barely.
Make a sauce with Lipton dehydrated onion soup mix and sour cream, blend well.
Layer broccoli in a casserole dish, spoon half of sauce over broccoli, layering in casserole.
Cover with the chicken breasts.
Fold whipped cream into remaining sauce and pour over chicken.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes - or more, then sprinkle with cheese and run under broiler until brown.
